Moorish Media Entertainment was founded after Johnny Ray & Rampage of Flipmode Squad held several  artist music business meetings for Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group, & Warner Music Group to assist those label with acquiring talent. Johnny Ray questioned why Moorish Media didn't have its own record label, then founded Moorish Media Entertainment. Moorish Media Entertainment is a division of Moorish Media Music Group, its also comprised of innovative business ventures, including 87Wavy Entertainment, Winnie Wonka Eyecandy Entertainment, Moorish Island Entertainment, Gospelled Up Production and Entertainment, Groove Records, among others.
